About Me
To celebrate the reopening of their historic hotel, the Waldorf Astoria team contracted David Stark Design to build them a party of the ages to ring in the new era of their eastablishment. The Waldorf Astoria team worked tirelessly during their 8 year renovation to replicate the look of the original Waldorf Astoria & bring back the splendor of the past. The reopening celebration, in turn, meant to showcase the beauty of this historical revival. Graphics of peacock feathers with gilded gold details lined the Grand Ballroom & referenced the hotel’s gorgeous Peacock Alley. Hexagonal bars & chandeliers referenced the famous Waldorf Astoria Clock that greets you when you enter the hotel. The Jade Room lived up to it’s name, decked in emerald green & flashing gold, under the guise of a hidden speakeasy in the heart of the hotel. The Astor Room featured bowls overflowing with seafood & a towering ice slupture & bars and food stations painted a shimmering pearl. The star of the show was the Basildon Room, with its whimsical cloche tower sculpture that referenced the Waldorf’s innovation of room service & a towering pile of pillows for guests to fall into provided a thrilling photo opportunity for party goers.
